If I
could sing and I could play...
$2,500.00
BACKGROUND INFO...........My wife's grandpa lived to be 99 years old, and though he lived through most of the great events of the 20th century, his time was mostly spent making a living for his family. Before he passed away, I asked him what he considered the most memorable event in his life and he told me the story of his trip to the Grand Ole Opry. He could remember every mile from Texas, every breakdown, and even the way the Mississippi River looked and smelled that time of year. For him, The Grand Ole Opry was an "icon", an image that would inspire him and provide pleasant memories for the rest of his life. I tried to make the artwork reflect a traditional image of the religious icon combined with a more modern and lighthearted subject. It can be said that the instruments act as a trilogy while the colorful leaves can be as stained glass, but all in all it is just a simple image of pleasant memories.
MATERIALS.............. The
panel is 1/2" MDO plywood, overlayed both
sides. The scrollwork and frame have been
hand carved and router carved. The paint is
exterior quality one-shot and Ronan water
base acrylic. No overcoat should be
